Services Offered

The Health Department offers a wide range of services. Clients may also schedule an appointment by calling the office at (785) 798-3388.

  • Children’s Health Services: Immunizations, fluoride varnish, blood lead screenings and counseling and health education, school physicals for kids 3-8.

  • General Health Services: Blood Pressure, blood sugar screening, lipid panel, Hemoglobin A1C, health promotion, disease prevention, and adult immunization.

  • WIC (Women, Infants & Children): A program that provides nutrition and health education, healthy food and other services to Kansas families who qualify.

  • Vision and Hearing Testing

  • Monthly Lab Days

  • Lab One Site: Drop off and pick up

  • COVID Testing

  • Environmental Health Services: Information and referral services in cooperation with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment District Office, and the Central Kansas Local Environment Protection Group, Supply water testing kits available as desired.

  • Tuberculosis: TB skin test and medication supply. Referral to medical providers.

  • Connection to Benefit Programs: Applications available or Kancare/Medicaid and benefits (SNAP, daycare, and cash assistance)

  • CPR: We offer classes by appointment, for a minimum of 3 people and a maximum of 6.

  • Health Preparedness: Working with our fellow LEPC partners and citizens to be prepared in the event of a natural or manmade disaster.

Family Planning Service Program

Provides services, information and counseling on health care for women, men, and teens.  Services are free or low cost and are always confidential. Services are also billable to most insurances.

Here is a partial list of services included in Family Planning:

  • Office visits to your family planning health care provider for evaluation, follow up and referral to other health care providers as necessary

  • Counseling from your health care provider regarding pregnancy: to prepare for pregnancy, to prevent unintended pregnancies and to enable individuals to control the timing and spacing of pregnancies

  • Initiation and management of contraception

  • Birth control supplies and medications

  • Prevention of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) with vaccine and condoms

  • Laboratory services for the screening of STDs, HIV (the virus that causes AIDS) and pregnancy
